Weekend Inspiration Challenge - IC95

Sunday, September 30, 2007

This was an Inspiration Challenge on Splitcoaststampers of a pillow, no less! You can check it out here - http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=65829&d=1191037992. Anyway, it is always fun to see what everyone comes up with on these. I used lots of glitter, which doesn't really show too well in the picture, but there's lots of glitz and glam on this one. Of course I had to use dragonflies instead of butterflies tho! The dragonflies I cut out from a Sizzlits die cut, other than that some organdy ribbon and a few rhinestones. Dragonfly Wishes to you on this great fall and football Sunday and GO PACK!!

Flowers for You!

Saturday, September 29, 2007

A girl can never have too many flowers! It's another beautiful day here in Colorado, and I'm set to make a few cards here this morning and then head out to enjoy the day. Not sure what I'm going to do, but there are plenty of art fairs happening this time of year that always give me inspiration. This stamp is from the Fast & Fun Notes set together with Close to Cocoa ink and Sahara Sand paper with a little brown textured paper. Also 4 tiny brown brads and the Offray ribbon is from JoAnn's. Happy Saturday to all of you!!

This card is being sent today to someone very special to me who left me one of the best emails I've ever received. I think this stamp arrived at my door (today) just in time for it! It is from the Fast & Fun Notes set, the heart is from the Year Round Fun II set, the jute ribbon is from JoAnn's and the orange glitter stickers are from Stampendous! Thanks for looking and for the well wishes on my test today and have a great Friday!

What's Mew?

Thursday, September 27, 2007

This was more of a challenge getting Izee to sit still than to make the darn card!! Anyway, she's been hanging around me most of the morning, so I thought I'd post a card in her honor. This is another piece of fabric that I purchased from Michael's and the background paper is from the Pocket Full of Posies matstack. Black ribbon and some rhinestones to make it pretty follow it up.

The other thing that's "mew" with me, is that tomorrow I go for another 6 month CT scan on my neck. I've tried all kinds of emotions to get thru these, from being completely optimistic to not feeling like it was ever going to heal. So I'm not sure how to handle this one, except to just throw all emotion out the window and hope that the dragonflies will flutter their message of healing out into the wind. Wish me luck everybody!

Thinking of You

Wednesday, September 26, 2007

Happy Wednesday! A simple thinking of you card because we can never say it enough to people who mean so much to us, can we? The background butterfly paper is from Flavia's Mint and Moonlight paper stack. I then just cut a strip off that made a gap and then punched the coordinating holes on each side of paper. I then used crochet thread to stitch them together. The sentiment was printed off of my computer. Hope you enjoy it and have a spectacular day!!

Halloween!

Tuesday, September 25, 2007

I got all of my Halloween cards done - yeah!!! It's an absolutely beautiful Fall day here in Colorado! Anyway, props to Jill Kelley for this design layout idea. I used the Year Round Fun II Stampin' Up set for the pumpkin head and hat and just colored them in. The trick or treat paper is from Heidi Grace and the ribbon is from JoAnn's. For those of you on my holiday card list - don't look! (just kidding) - because this is what you're getting! Happy Tuesday, and have an awesome day!

Finally got the chance to do something with this set! This is the All Wrapped Up set and the hello is just from the Calligraphy set from Plaid. The floral background is from the Pocket full of Posies Matstack. The center flower and the little froggy have pop dots behind them and the little froggy looks like he could pop off the card at any time! I cut a square in half and did the faux stitching around them using Stampin' Up's Mat Pack, and then just used a white gel pen for the stitching. I used an off white organza ribbon and the little swirly things in the center of the flowers, not sure what they're called, are from Archiver's. Have a Happy Monday and don't forget to say Hello to someone you haven't in awhile!

Found this card in my stash that I made a few weeks ago. It reminds me to send it out to a friend of mine, so we can get together this week and chat awhile over coffee. The coffee pot and cups were an embellishment set from the clearance aisle at Michael's. Then I just used a tiny swirl punch on the corners from a square that I cut in half. Three brass brads finish it up. Thanks for looking and have a great Sunday football day!! Go Pack!!

Saturday Thank You -

Saturday, September 22, 2007

This card is for the IC94 Challenge for today. It's just a thank you card that I decided to do because we should all say thank you more often to the special people in our lives for just being there sometimes. I found the fairy paper in the Once Upon a Time matstack, and the thank you stamp is from the Calligraphy Stamps for Everyday Occasions set from Plaid. "Thank You" for looking - and have a fantastic day!!

TGIF!!

Friday, September 21, 2007

First of all this card is the WT132 - Basic Gray Challenge. I agree with everyone else that finding gray in my stash of stuff was interesting, but I did manage to come up with some things. This was a fun challenge, and it certainly gets you to use some things that you have around that you normally wouldn't.

I had an interesting morning attending our local radio morning show as part of live audience Friday that they have. Had to get up EARLY!! I had to be there at 5:45 and I was there until 10:00 this morning. It was great to see them in person, instead of just listening. They fed us breakfast, and it was a fun thing to do. I can mark that off of my list of things to accomplish for this year.

Unfortunately, I need to attend a funeral this afternoon, but then have to quickly switch gears and attend a high school football game tonite.

This weekend there isn't much planned, besides watching footbal and, of course, make some cards!!! I hope all of you have a great weekend!

2/5/7/10 Challenge

Friday, September 21, 2007

Well I know I'm way behind on this challenge, but I finally got a chance to try these. The first 2, the one on the left and in the middle, I cut the paper incorrectly but I was able to turn them into something anyway. I guess I don't follow directions very well, but as you can see I finally got it right on the 3rd try. Anyway, I used the Petal Prints set and glittered them up with Prisma Glitter.

Enjoy!

Thursday, September 20, 2007

I'm so into Fall mode right now! I love it! I plan to make a quick stop to a little park today to see if my favorite little tree there is starting to change yet. I plan to enjoy every minute of this beautiful time of year, which led me to use the Enjoy Stampin' Up stamp from the Gently Falling set. I also used the little leaf stamp from the Year Round Fun II set, together with a little green plaid paper, orange ribbon and gold square clip. Enjoy your day!!

Fall Leaf

Wednesday, September 19, 2007

Can you believe Fall is pretty much here already? Some of the trees here are already changing and it truly is my favorite time of year! The weather is perfect and the colors are gorgeous. This card reflects some of those colors. I used the leaf stamp from the Made From Scratch set from Stampin' Up along with a background stamp from Stampabilities called Crackle Berry. All tied together with a little bit of raffia and a brass brad.

Love

Tuesday, September 18, 2007

Love with no limit - pretty powerful expression, huh? This card today comes from my heart and explains a lot as to how we love, doesn't it? The love we feel for special people in our lives you can't imagine being without, including that unconditional love you feel to and from your pets. To me it means that you put no limits on the deep down feelings that are sometimes hard to express. At any rate, I hope you enjoy it, it's a pretty simple, but sweet card.

Monday, Monday.....

Monday, September 17, 2007

Need I say more? Sometimes Mondays live up to their name and sometimes they are a nice surprise. I still have a splitting headache and it's raining again here in Colorado (what's up with that?). I guess I feel like the day, just kinda gloomy. Whatever kind of Monday it is, we all have some kind of love in our heart, so I'm posting a "Listen to Your Heart" card today, because we should all remember that no matter what, there is always someone out there that loves us and we should listen to what our hearts tell us more closely sometime.

Peace, Love and Puppies!

Sunday, September 16, 2007

As you've probably seen in one of my first posts, the picture of my beloved Dixie Girl and so when I saw this on the internet, I had to do something with it! Who doesn't love puppies and of course want peace and love in the world?!

Elvis - Happy Birthday Baby!

Sunday, September 16, 2007

I found this ribbon at Wal-Mart if you can believe it and downloaded one of my favorite pictures of him.

Elvis Baby!

Sunday, September 16, 2007

I share Elvis' birthday, and grew up listening to him since my mom and sister loved him, so here's a birthday card for a special guy! I got the lyrics from the internet and typed them out for the background and thought that would ad something special to it.

Football Sunday!

Sunday, September 16, 2007

Well it's Sunday and my football game is over for the day (Packers vs. Giants) and my beloved Packers won! Yeah!! Although I do like to watch some of the other games as well, there's nothing like the excitement of watching your home team playing and win to boot! It just finished raining a bit here, I've got all the windows open and it smells great out.

I've got a dr's appointment this week Tuesday. For those who don't know me, I have a vertebral artery tear in my neck that I've been dealing with for almost 2 years now. Very frustrating, but I look forward to each new day and feeling better too. If you know of anyone who has dealt with this sort of thing, let me know. I'd love to hear a success story!

I think I'll post a few more cards here today that I've done recently for you to get this blog going, and let me know what you think! If something isn't working correctly, please let me know that and any other input you may have for me - cardladyjeannie@yahoo.com. Thanks!

Gift Cards

Saturday, September 15, 2007

Everybody gets at least one gift card for someone at Christmas, don't they? Well these days it seems to be an easy gift that most everyone loves to get from their favorite place to shop or eat at. Here's one that I thought was fun, and will post more in the coming days.

My Dixie Chick

Saturday, September 15, 2007

This is my little girl Dixie Chick. She's a 6 year old Jack Russell and I just love her to death! She cracks me up most of the time, when she's not barking that is, and you'll probably see and hear a lot about her here since she's my favorite photo subject.

Love - Plain and Simple

Saturday, September 15, 2007

This is one that I incorporated some fabric in, since I dabble with quilting from time to time, and of course, have plenty of dragonfly fabric too!

Sending You a Great Big Hug!

Saturday, September 15, 2007

A fun card, since I love flowers, rhinestones and all things shiny, and love to give away hugs too!
