It's Twisted Thursday at Shirley's 2 Girls!! All of the details for today's challenge can be found at Karolyn's blog - Paper Therapy. This stamp is from S2G and is called Schnapps' Close-Up, and he's just adorable, no?! I'm using one of my favorite color combos and I MUST get more of this paper! It is from My Mind's Eye, the Bohemia collection, and it's reversible with the gorgeous deep red on the back. I wish I could wallpaper a room with it! The blue is some textured Bazzil. I basically used markers, 1 large and 3 smaller Nesties, some sheer ribbon, rhinestones and pop-dots. The ink around some of the edges is one of the petal point pastel chalks from ColorBox. The sentiment is computer generated. It came out pretty big, it's an A6 size, so with the paper that I have left, I think I'll try and make a smaller version too. The silver heart is from the Dollar Tree, can you believe it? I LUV the Tree! There's 6 in a package for $1, now that's a smokin' deal, ya?!

So should I tell you more about my job that I start on Monday? It's with the Boys and Girls Club in the Administration offices. I will be working with the HR, Accounting, payroll, and benefits people and it's just part time for now, but that's ok. I'll be working from 10 to 3, so I will be avoiding all of the traffic, since it's not real close to home. The building I will be working in has a recreation area and pool for the kids who can come there after school and they have lots of other events that they coordinate. That's about all I know right now, but needless to say, I am looking forward to it.

Well Matt is gone from Idol. He got saved a couple of weeks ago, and I like him, but Danny has been my fav from the very start, so I hope he is one of the finals. Even if he isn't, whenever he makes a CD, I will buy it. They sang songs from the Rat Pack era, and he was incredible!

Have an awesome Twisted Thursday, take care, thanks for visiting, and leave me some luv before you go!

Peace and Luv,
So one of my favorite expressions for this month has always been, April showers bring May flowers. Then in my blog hopping/stalking I came upon a hugely talented artist named Dustin Pike who has the cutest darn animals that he's drawn and are available as digi-downloads. These images are great for kids of any age, and truly make you smile. I'll get into digi-downlads in a bit but first I'll tell you just a little about the card. The card base is an Olivey green textured Bazzil. Then the patterned paper is from SU's Pattern Pack II, that I framed out almost each piece with the same olive. I used a scallop border punch, a flower Nestie, some ribbon, rhinestones, markers, and pop-dots. Then I added the dragonfly that's a punch on the umbrella. It looks like he's looking right at him, doesn't it? I know April is almost over, so I had to do this, and do it incorporating dragonflies. So....I wonder who would enjoy receiving this card....hmmmm....who has a dragonfly obsession like I do....lives in Iowa....and is one of my favorite people? That's right Carol - this baby is in the mail today and on its way to you. Sorry it'll be May when you get it, but I hope you enjoy it anyway.

So now I want to talk about not only about Dustin Pike and his downloads, but the many, many companies that are getting into this too. Shirley's 2 Girls, one of my favorites of course, is also doing it. Let's think about this a minute. They're cheaper than buying the stamps themselves, they are all stored on your computer and not scattered throughout your craft area. You can print them out to be any size you want. They use a minimal amount of printer ink because they are just outlines so there's no messy inkpads laying around, and they turn out perfect every time! Don't get me wrong, I have ALOT of stamps and ink pads that I'm not giving up and will continue to buy more, but I will be getting many more of these digi stamps. Plus, you see it, you like it, and you buy it and print it out, and all while you're still in your pajamas! This particular image is a freebie from Dustin and he has a few others as well. Dustin has a new cupcake with a monkey that as soon as I'm done here I will be popping over onto Etsy to get. He is the cutest eva!!

Have an awesome day everybody, thanks so very much for visiting, and I think your comments are da bomb! I think I'm watching too much Idol, ya?! Did you watch last nite?

Peace and Luv,
I combined a couple of challenges again today. The Flourishes Timeless Tuesday has a great sketch layout today, and 365 Cards:Day 59 is to use a Miss You sentiment, or something similar. The base of the card is a dark brown Bazzil, then some SU Close to Cocoa cardstock, with a piece of SU's patterned paper from the Delicate Dots pack. Not sure where the orange with white polka dots paper is from. The owl and the Hoo! is from a paper from Sassafrass Lass that I cut out, and he is pop-dotted, and then I just added the "do I miss" below it. I used a small scallop square punch, a Fiskars small scallop scissor, some orange grosgrain ribbon, some dark brown Offray ribbon, and some rhinestones. In the center, I cut out an orange circle using a Nestabilitie and inked it a little, with a dark brown circle of the Bazzil underneath it. The flower is from last week when I had done a recycling card with newspaper and I had done several at the same time. If you missed it, it's just newspaper that I cut out using Sizzlit die cut, crumpled it, and then inked it up. I put an orange button in the center of it. On the inside of the card it sez.....You...that's whoooooo!

I went to my screening appointment this morning, and it looks like, tentively anyway, they want me to start next Monday, the 4th. I do need to get some outfits together, which means a little bit of shopping this week! I think I'll treat myself to a manicure and pedicure on Friday too!

I hope your day is good. I appreciate your visit, and all of your great comments. Yesterday, I think I got the most comments ever, so thank you so much!!

Peace and Luv,
It's Monday so here's a little fishy to cheer you up. I combined 2 challenges today. I used Mojo Monday's sketch, and the 365 Cards challenge is Something's Fishy, so that means add a fish somewhere on the card. The papers are K&Company's Wild Saffron, with some sunflower, white and ivory cardstock. The stamps are from a little $1 set from Inkadinkado, that I inked with SU's Blue Bayou. I colored with some markers, added some ribbon and tied it with some crochet thread, and added some tulle on top of the punched scallop circle. I added 3 tiny buttons and used some pop-dots. This is a pretty wild in color and papers card, but I think he's a happy little guy just the same.

Well I received a job offer on Friday!!!!!.....contingent on them checking me out via references and a background and drug test over the next few days. I'm not sure if I'll start later this week, or just next Monday and I'm both nervous and excited. I'm not nervous about the tests, but just starting somewhere new and stuff, you know what I mean? So now that I've had 2 months off, and now that I know I only have a few days of not working, there's a bunch of stuff I want to get done. I'll give you more details about the job as soon as I know more, but I think the hours and the company will be just perfect for me.

Neal and I went to see the movie Obsessed yesterday after he dropped the kids off, and it was just ok. The typical Fatal Attraction type movie, but Beyonce was good in it. She's so beautiful. Then we stopped and got a burger at Johnny Rocket's and came home and watched Amazing Race. I'm not sure who I'd like to win anymore, they have all shown some pretty bad sides of themselves over the last few weeks.

I hope you have a great day, thanks for visiting, LUV the comments, and take care!

Peace and Luv,
Hi and Happy Sunday! Day 57 at 365 Cards is Super Sketchy Sunday. I used some new paper and stamps from Close To My Heart. The papers are from the Daydream paper packet, with some willow and black cardstock. The stars and the sentiment are from the Wishing Star set, inked in SU's Kiwi Kiss. The layout also called for the 2 corners to have some sort of scallop or anything else you wanted to do, so I used my Fiskars small scallop scissor. Then I added 4 black brads, and 2 rhinestones in the centers of the stars, which are pop-dotted.

I wanted to tell you about a blog hop that is going to take place on Shirley's 2 Girls on Thursday, May 7th, instead of having a Twisted Thursday challenge. I am very excited and thrilled that I have been asked to be a Design Team guest for May, so do mark your calendars for that!!! I will probably be mentioning it tho here every day just the same, but in case you miss a day here, you will want to mark your calendars, because you are going to be able win some awesome stuff from them!!!!

Have a great nite, thanks for visiting and take care!!

Peace and Luv,
Today's challenge at 365 Cards:Day 55 is a Card Recipe. This one was a challenge for me in that it was way too simple compared to what I usually do, but also perfect for a 12 year olds birthday! Here is the recipe:
5x5 card (solid colored card stock - may be smooth or textured), 4x4 patterned paper (you may alter the edges if you'd like), 1 shape (circle, square, star, heart, etc.) - must be solid color, 3 jewels and alpha stickers. So I used some Bazzil for the base, the patterned paper is from ATD's Wildflower paper pad, that I made to look like a page out of a binder with a punch, and rounded 2 of the corners. Then I used a star punch, the game piece letter stickers are from Making Memories, and then 3 yellow jewels.

Since the first one took me all of 10 minutes to do, I thought I'd do another one to slip under Neal's pillow. The base is Bazzil and the patterned paper is from Memory Boutique. Then I used a heart punch, the glitter sticker letters are from Target's $1 spot, and 3 heart shaped jewels. I've also included a pic of the inside.

Well I went to my 2nd interview this morning, and it went just fine, quick but fine all the same. I'm one of the 3 "finalists", so I guess all I can do is wait and see if I get a call back.

Tonite I'm meeting up with my SU demonstrator to help her set up for our party tomorrow. So then tomorrow I've got a 10:00 hair appointment, and the party then starts at 1:00 and I'll probably be there til 5ish. Saturday nite we're celebrating Neal's son Quentin's birthday. Sunday will for sure be a lay around day! I'm sure I won't be posting anything tomorrow, but perhaps Sunday - we'll see.

I forgot to mention yesterday that I guessed right on who was going home on Idol, ya?! Disco week was fun, and it was very interesting to see KC of KC and the Sunshine Band!

Check out this blog candy on Debbie's blog Passion for Crafts!!! You have until April 30th to leave a comment - you never know, you could be the lucky winner!!

Have a great Friday, thanks so much for your comments that I appreciate so very much, and take care!

Peace and Luv,
Here's my Thursday Part II post today which is for 365 Cards, Day 53:Recycled Elements. I saw some similar flowers on Etsy last nite and thought I'd try my hand at them. I used newspaper, crumpled it up, and then inked it up. On the very bottom is some ivory tulle, then a Nestabilitie flower, also inked, then the newspaper flower and then a button with crochet thread to hold it altogether. Since I had SU's Lavender Lace cardstock out from earlier today I used it for some of the layering together with some Green Grocer's brown bag paper, which is recycled paper. I took one of SU's old Background Basic stamps and some white ink for the background. The patterned paper is a scrap from the Once Upon a Time mat stack. Then just some ribbon and some pop-dots and here you go.

I hope your day was good, and remember to enjoy the little things.

Peace and Luv,
Hi there and Happy Twisted Thursday! Today's challenge at Shirley's 2 Girls, besides following a sketch layout which can be found at Karolyn's blog Paper Therapy, is to add ribbon. Not very hard at all, ya?! I'd luv to see what you can do, so why not join us? All the details are on Paper Therapy, so check it out. I didn't follow the sketch exactly, but I think I'm still within the realm of the challenge layout. I used one of S2G's stamps, called Domino's Hugs, as well as the patterned paper from the Indulge package. I paper pieced her pants and hat and then just colored the rest in with markers. Also used is a small square scallop punch and a small circle punch, ribbon of course, and rhinestones.

I may be back later with another post, because as luck would have it at 365 Cards today, they have a challenge to use recycling elements. Well last nite I saw some flowers being sold on Etsy that I had to try for myself and I made them with newspaper. I actually made 5 flowers trying out different shapes and sizes.

What I need to do now is hit the shower and get some stuff done here today, I slept in a little longer than I should have. We have the kids this weekend and it's Quen's birthday, so tonite when Neal gets home we have some running around to do. But before that I need to get another outfit together becuz.........I have a second interview tomorrow morning!!! Yes, the place that I went to last week called, and I guess it's between me and another, and tomorrow I will be meeting with 3 more people. So....I probably won't be posting anything tomorrow until later in the afternoon.

I hope your Thursday is a little twisted, and join the challenge today, you could win good stuff!!

Peace and Luv,
Happy Earth Day! It is also Day 53-Fun with Fruit at 365 Cards. I luv this stamp, which is from Cowtown Stamps mostly because it's different. I CASE'd a card of luvmyboys&stampin on SCS, altho hers is much simpler. I think I tried to get too detailed. Anyway, the patterned paper is SU's Delicate Dots, with Certainly Celery cardstock, some Bazzill brown, and some ivory. The leaves are a Sizzlit die cut. I also used a ticket corner punch, markers, Kiwi Kiss ink, ColorBox Olive Pastel and Chestnut chalk, as well as 3 brads and some sheer brown ribbon. My favorite part is how the leaves are touching each other! I couldn't decide which sentiment to use. It was between two of a kind or the perfect pear/pair. I didn't know which way to spell it, pear or pair, so I decided two of a kind was easier.

I received some wonderful awards yesterday that I am grateful for from 2 creative gals that I am extremely inspired by:

Diana's AUsome Creations - The Karma Award: These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind of bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers.

The Kristie Sessions - Lemonade Award: The Lemonade Stand Award is for being a blogger who shows great attitude and gratitude.

The deal is to nominate others and share the luv. Since a lot of the 365'ers have already received these, I'd just like to say that if you comment on a consistant basis here, (and you know who you are), these awards are for you too! So grab them and put them on your blog, and if you don't have one print them out anyway and put them up somewhere to remember how much you mean to me and this crazy craft that keeps me going.

I hope you have an awesome Earth Day and do something special for yourself and others to celebrate it.

Did you watch Idol last nite? Who's going home? I think it's gotta be Lil, and maybe Anoop? I still luv Danny.

Thanks for visiting, for all of your wonderful comments, and take care!

Peace and Luv,
It's Tuesday Trio at 365 Cards:Day 52 which for today means I needed to include a Brad, a Blossom, and a Circle. So here ya go...The vase, stem and leaf stamps are from CTMH, the With Love set. The patterned paper is ATD's Wildflowers paper pad. The cardstock is SU's Wild Wasabi, Purely Pomegranate, with ivory. The ink is the same as the cardstock. Then the blossom is one of my own that I have fun making and Vicky gave me the idea since she also used one on her card today. As a matter of fact, I'm making a bunch for our card club get together on Saturday. Then I used a Nestabilitie circle, a Sizzix top note, a little heart punch, and some sheer ribbon. I luv the challenges on this blog!

I haven't been up to too much really, and I haven't heard back from the place that I interviewed with either. I guess I could call there, but I don't like doing that. I believe they said they wouldn't make a decision until this week some time, but still I think they would have called by now if they were interested. I need to stay positive, I know, but it sure is hard.

It's Tuesday, and that means Idol is on tonite. Only a handful left, they eliminate 2 tonite and it's also DISCO nite!! Yoohoo!! he, he. Should be interesting to see what they come up with.

Does anybody watch the new show Castle? I really like it. It's like a CSI with a comedy twist. It's on Monday's along with Medium, which we also like, so thank goodness for tivo.

A huge THANK YOU to Vicky at Paper Girl for nominating me for a couple of awards on her blog - you're the sweetest!

I hope you have a great Tuesday - thanks for stopping in and leaving comments. I luv to hear from you, and take care!

Peace and Luv,
It's Day 51 at 365 Cards and it's a Picture This challenge. The inspiration is this gorgeous picture of these red flowers, which I think are lilies. So I pulled out a new to me set that I got at a garage sale that I know is old. It is called Watercolor minis and this is the only stamp that I had that looked like these flowers, or the same shape anyway. I saw a card on SCS with this layout that I had in my favorites. Her name on SCS is justheather. The ink colors I used are SU's Kiwi Kiss, Riding Hood Red, Pacific Point and So Saffron. The cardstock is just white and SU's Pacific Point, with some Green Grocer's brown bag paper. Then just a couple of rhinestones and some ribbon and pop-dots.

Also, I had mentioned that last week on 365 Cards you had the chance to win a mini Scor-It and guess who won.....me!!! I was so excited when I went to their blog this morning and saw my name there in huge letters, I can't even tell you! It makes putting the time and effort into my cards just that much more fun!

I hope your Monday is good, thanks for stopping in, and I luv to hear your comments so thank you very much for them.

Peace and Luv,
Happy Sunday and today's card was indeed a challenge for me. At 365 Cards-Day 50, Super Sketchy Sunday, this sketch was a challenge. I changed it 3 times and decided that I just couldn't do a horizontal card that I liked today with it. So I took big liberties and this is what I came up with. The bunch of flowers is a download from the Sketching Stamper, like the tulips from Friday, and I just colored it in with SU markers. The patterned paper is from the Paper Loft, and the cardstocks used are SU's Close to Cocoa, white and sunflower. The ribbon is from Doodlebug Designs, I used an oval Nestabilitie, a couple of buttons and pop-dots.

Yesterday was a crazy busy day for Neal and I running around between his school and errands, but then we were able to make it to Mesa where a Creating Keepsakes Convention was. Bazzill paper was there, so of course I had to get some of that and a few Close to My Heart stamps. Neal is always amazed by it all and luvs to people watch at these things, he's so funny. We left at 10 in the morning and didn't get home until 6ish, so we just watched a movie and relaxed the rest of the evening.

Today he's back at school for a couple of hours getting a presentation together that his department will be presenting tomorrow. Lots of work has gone into this by all, so I hope it will all go well. So I'm just hanging out, I watched the Brewers-Mets game and the Brewers won which is good, and now I'm just watching some HGTV. I like Dear Genevieve a lot. If you used to watching Trading Spaces, she is one of the designers.

Well I hope your weekend was good, thanks for stopping in and take care!

Peace and Luv,
It's Friday and I'm sending some sunshine to those of you who may not have it in your neck of the woods - especially poor Colorado! Yikes!! So I'm blog-hopping again yesterday (everyday), and I came across another talented artist where you can download the images and color them in. The name of the site is Sketching Stamper and that is where I found this beautiful pot of tulips. Whenever I think of tulips I think red, I guess that's from my childhood somewhere, so that's how I colored them. The DP is from SU's Pattern Packs II, and it is also reversible, so I luv that. The base cardstock is white, with some black and Apricot Appeal. No idea why they call it apricot because it's yellow, but whatev. Then the ribbon is also SU and I added some rhinestones and a dragonfly with a couple of glitzy stickers on it. I might make a few more with some of the other colors of paper that I have too since, and I'm not sure why, it took me so long to come up with this card layout today. Let me know what you think.

So yesterday was my Dixie's 8th birthday and so her daddy sent me this cell phone pic of her in her birthday crown. I called and sang to her and I sure wish I could have given her some big hugs and kisses. We talked about getting her back to me somehow now that she's in Omaha, and decided that the summer being so very hot here that maybe we should wait until the fall so that she can be here over the winter. So she'll be a snowbird, so to speak.

I hope your day is great and that you are looking forward to the weekend. Thanks for stopping in, take care of yourself, and leave a comment to let me know that you were here.

Peace and Luv,

It's Twisted Thursday at Shirley's 2 Girls! Today's challenge was to use flowers or buttons, so I used both. The details can be found at Paper Therapy. The stamp, called Baguette's Accessory is from S2G's and he is just adorable. The cardstocks that I used are Navy Blue, not sure if it turned out looking like black in the pic, together with white and ivory. The patterned paper is SU's Designer Dots, I think it's called, and is reversible so it makes the decision making process much easier. I colored him in with some markers, made a little price tag and put a crochet thread bow on it and then the flowers are from Michael's bridal, with some little green buttons in the centers. There is also a blue rhinestone in the middle of the bow on top of his head. Don't forget to make the inside look pretty too!

I'm feeling much better than yesterday, thank goodness. I'm not sure what hit me. I did have the interview this morning, so we'll see if I hear anything back. I was their very first for this position, so I'm sure they have a lot more people to talk with. It's a bit of a drive, but you gotta do what you gotta do right now. It's actually just down the road from Neal's school, so we got to have lunch together today, and that was fun.

I hope your day is a good one, thanks for visiting me for a little bit, and take care!

Peace and Luv,
Hi there - well I hope you are having a dandy-lion of a day today. This little guy is a Pink Petticoat download that I colored in with markers, together with some wild paper that I've had around but have no idea where I got it. I used some black cardstock, and some Green Grocer's brown bag paper, some ribbon and twine and some silver sticky studs. The base of the card is ivory.

Well the good news is that I have an interview tomorrow. The bad news is that I think I have the flu!

Peace and Luv,
Jeannie
Hi there and Happy Tuesday. It's day 45 and 365 Cards has a Tri-Fold challenge in conjunction with Scor-It week. I wanted to use these stamps, because I hadn't in awhile and so this is what I came up with. The stamps are from My Favorite Things, and I colored with SU Pretty in Pink and Close to Cocoa markers and then used the same colors of cardstock, together with ivory. I've been getting lots of use out of this border punch, and there's some Frosted Lace Stickles that were used for the steam on the front of the card. The flower, which is Apricot Appeal is a Sizzix die cut. Then I just added some organdy pink and brown ribbon, and the front main stamp is pop-dotted. The inside flap is meant to be cut and used for a bookmark, and is probably my favorite part, but the inside I think is pretty cute too.

I've got another pic of a beautiful rose for you too from the empty townhouse next door to me. Someone has to enjoy them, ya?!, This is why I'm on such a pink kick I think. Is it not gorgeous, or what?

I did receive a call yesterday regarding a job to see if I was still available. They didn't set up an interview, but said that they are just gathering those that they have an interest in and that they will be in touch. It's something anyway. It's only part time, but I hope they at least call back. If I don't hear anything by the end of the day, I should maybe give them a call to see what's up.

I hope you have a great day and thanks for visiting.
I luv and appreciate all of your comments!

Peace and Luv,

It's Monday and at 365 Cards:Day 44 it's a Money Holder challenge day. I like this site to get me challenged a little bit, even tho I'm not crazy about what I came up with today, it gave me a starting off point. The purse stamp is from the Dollar Tree, that is paper pieced, and the circle stamp at the bottom is from Close to My Heart, and it sez if the shoe fits buy one in every color that is stamped in SU's Riding Hood Red ink. The patterned paper is from K&Company's Que Sera Sera designer mat pad. The cardstock colors are SU's Riding Hood Red, Baja Breeze and ivory. I used a scallop border punch, some markers and then added some rhinestones and a big red bow. This site is also giving away a mini scor-pal some time this week, which I do not have and would luv to own!

The weekend went by quickly, it rained all day and nite Saturday tho. We had fun with the kids, coloring and hiding eggs, and Easter day was beautiful so we played outside, a little baseball, and enjoyed the day as much as possible.

I hope your weekend was good, thanks for stopping in today to visit, and take care!

Peace and Luv,
Jelly beans, colored eggs
and a chocolate bunny,

Here's hoping that your
Easter day is very sweet
